AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN PRESENTED THE LETTER OF CREDENTIALS

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Igawahara Masaru presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh on 12 December 2023.

President U.Khurelsukh underlined that the relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Japan are developing at the high level of “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity” based on common values of democracy, human rights and freedom. He also commended the successful celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022.

The President expressed his confidence that the Ambassador, who was appointed at the time of the new era of “Reiwa”, which marks the beginning of the next half century of relations between Mongolia and Japan, would contribute to further strengthening the achievements of our relations and wished success in his future endeavors.

Ambassador Igawahara pledged to strengthen “people-centered” relations and cooperation in all fields such as trade, economy, culture, and education. He also expressed his commitment to attracting investment from Japan, advancing major infrastructure projects and intensifying economic relations.

At the meeting, both sides confirmed their desire to intensify high-level exchanges and expand cooperation on both regional and international levels.
