The President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh and his spouse L.Bolortsetseg arrived in Tashkent on 23 June 2024 for a State Visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The President and the accompanying Mongolian delegation were greeted and welcomed by Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister A.N.Aripov, Foreign Minister B.Saidov, non-resident Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Mongolia F.N.Arziev and other relevant officials at the Islam Karimov Tashkent international airport.

On the first day of the visit, President U.Khurelsukh and his spouse paid tribute and laid a wreath at the Monument to the Independence of Uzbekistan. The Mongolian delegation was welcomed by the Guard of Honor upon their arrival. After the wreath ceremony, the director of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan Mrs. J.Ismailova briefly introduced a history of Uzbekistan engraved on the walls of the Monument to the Independence of Uzbekistan.

The current visit is of importance as it is the first-ever State visit at the level of the Head of State since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Uzbekistan on 25 January 1992.
