Sun Shaochen, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the PRC, paid an official visit to Mongolia from October 1st to 5th, 2023 at the invitation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, B.Battsetseg.
Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg and Secretary Sun Shaochen held official talks on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation on October 3, 2023.
During the talks, both parties discussed the bilateral cooperation on the areas of trade, economy, investment, infrastructure, energy, tourism, education, culture and humanitarian activities within the framework of Comprehensive strategic cooperation between Mongolia and China.
Several cooperation documents were signed during the visit, including the “MOU on the Regular Consultative Working Group between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region” signed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia N.Ankhbayar and Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Yan Jin.
In addition, the Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science Sh.Narantuya and Vice Chairman of the Education Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Zhang Junshi signed an agreement on providing scholarships for Mongolian students studying in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Secretary General of the Mongolian Red Cross Society N.Bolormaa and Deputy Chairman of the Red Cross Society of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region signed a cooperation agreement on the humanitarian aid projects under the Belt and Road initiative.
Director General of the Mongolian National Broadcaster A.Burenbaatar and Deputy Chairman of the Radio and Television of Inner Mongolia Zha Jie signed a MOU on Strategic cooperation.
During the visit, Secretary Sun Shaochen paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Mongolia, L.Oyun-Erdene, and met with the Chief of the President Office of Mongolia, Ya.Sodbaatar and some other members of the Government. A trade and investment forum between Mongolia and China was also organized.
