A delegation headed by Major General G.Ariunbuyan, Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency, is participating in the High-level meeting on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, taking place in New York on 18-19 May 2023.

During the general discussions, Major General G.Ariunbuyan delivered a statement highlighting the increasing disaster risk caused by climate change, which undermines the main pillar of sustainable development. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to adapt to climate change, integrate disaster risk reduction and sustainable development, and create global roadmaps for their implementation.

In conclusion, he informed on Mongolia’s progress and experiences in implementing the Sendai Framework since 2015.
