MONGOLIA MADE STATEMENT AT THE THIRD COMMITTEE OF THE UNGA 71

On 5 October 2016, Mr. Sukhbold Sukhee, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, delivered statement on social development issues at the Third Committee of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At the beginning of his speech, Permanent Representative S.Sukhbold underlined that national governments need to pursue policies and programmes with equal consideration of social, economic and environmental dimensions of the sustainable development in order to meet people-centred social development concept and leave no one behind vision of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

Further he outlined that the objectives of the sustainable social development of Mongolia until 2030 as ending all forms of poverty, ensuring gender equality, enhancing the quality of and access to health care services, create a healthy, safe living environment for the citizens, improving public awareness on health education, provide equal education of high quality to every citizen, building a national system for lifelong education, and increasing the share of middle-income classes sustainably and consistently.

Among the government social development priorities, Permanent Representative  S.Sukhbold emphasized poverty reduction, improvement of education and health services, family support, and improvement of social protection system of citizens.
