OSCE CONFERENCE IS HELD IN ULAANBAATAR

12 Mongolia as a chair of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation during the first trimester of 2015 is organizing in co-operation with the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre a regional conference on the OSCE Code of Conduct on Politico-Military Aspects of Security on March 10-12, 2015.

The conference is aimed at facilitating better implementation, promoting awareness on and supporting outreach of the Code of Conduct for Central Asian participating States and OSCE’s Asian Partners for Co-operation. During the three-day conference the participants will discuss the role of armed and security forces in democratic societies, the respect of international humanitarian law, security sector reform, rights of armed forces personnel and the parliamentary oversight of security forces.

Participating in the conference are high-ranking officials from 16 States representing the ministries of foreign affairs and defence, the armed forces, national parliaments and academia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence of Mongolia organized the conference in co-operation with the support from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
