This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand. On the occasion of this historic milestone, congratulatory letters were exchanged between the Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh noted in his letter that friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries have been developing steadily over a half century and have been deeply strengthened in the international and regional arena. Furthermore, the President expressed his confidence that the relations and cooperation with our important partner in Southeast Asia, the Kingdom of Thailand, will be further strengthened in the next 50 years. In his letter, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Srettha Thavisin pointed out that the relations between Thailand and Mongolia have been expanding and developing in various areas and at all levels, not only on the bilateral front but also in the multilateral fora in the past 50 years.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Battsetseg emphasized in her letter that the friendly relations and cooperation with the Kingdom of Thailand have expanded in many fields such as trade, economy, culture, education, tourism, and health, and she expressed her satisfaction over the intensification of people-to-people exchanges between the two countries in recent years. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara expressed his commitment to work closely with the Mongolian side to advance friendly relations and further enhance collaboration for the prosperity and benefits of the two countries.
Mongolia established diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Thailand on 5 March 1974 and currently we are witnessing a growing cooperation in many fields.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary on this very special day, the scrolling text “Mongolia-Thailand 50 years” was displayed on the screen of Baiyoke Tower in Bangkok for the entire day.
